Tutors

Aim

Collective wisdom building – a mixology of new and experienced practitioners. Together we'll share insights and craft solutions, adding resources and strategies to your toolkit.

Learning objectives

· Explore how to create an environment for yourself and the client that fosters co-design of the guidance experience.

· Investigate compassionate and empowering challenging approaches

· Reflect-in-action to work through the moments when we feel in the swampy lowlands of practice, when our usual approaches aren’t working and we are unsure of what to do

Learning methods

Videos: you will have a month's membership to Let's Talk Creative Career Coaching which includes videos on the three stage creative career coaching model and examples of real-life practice. This is optional for those would like a refresh before the day.

Real-world case-studies - beforehand, we will ask you to send us areas you'd like to focus on, including client age, stage, behaviour and needs. We will construct cases for us to work on in two groups of no more than 10.

MacMaster Experiential Learning Technique . This innovative training approach was pioneered at McMaster University to provide an opportunity for safe, experimental and transformational learning. You'll decide if you want to join a client or practitioner group and to view the interaction through that lens. Your own practice won't be observed - there will be reflective breaks with Time Out to discuss strategies and co-design the way forward as a group. Volunteers are instructed by their group as to what to experiment with, what to say and do. You can also choose to Rewind and try another method!

All you need to bring is playful curiosity and a packed lunch!
