JAMES V – THE LOCAL LEGACY
An illustrated presentation by local historian Bruce Jamieson, featuring the impact made on the local area by King James V and some events of his reign. The Stewart monarch was born in Linlithgow Palace in 1512, and although his reign was short-lived, it impacted greatly on the burgh – as will be revealed in St Peter’s on Saturday, 16th May.
THE WIDER EUROPEAN CONTEXT IN 1526
Doctor John McGregor will set the Battle of Linlithgow Bridge in a wider European context, allowing our understanding of the politics and intrigue of the day to be enhanced when considering external events.
