Join Our Free Beginners Yoga Workshop!

This workshop is for the yogi who wants to enter the world of Hatha Yoga. Hatha yoga focuses on the traditional asana or pose and how we unite the breath and body.
In this workshop you will learn.
1. Breath Awareness (Foundation of Practice) Students will learn basic breathing techniques, especially how to connect breath with movement. Introducing concepts like diaphragmatic breathing and simple forms of Pranayama that helps them regulate energy, reduce stress, and stay present.
2. Basic Yoga Postures (Alignment & Safety) We will focus on a small set of foundational poses with clear alignment cues, such as:
- Mountain Pose
- Downward Dog
- Child’s Pose
- Warrior I & II
- Seated Forward Fold
3. Transitions & Flow Basics Students will learn the cues and transitional poses and how to properly engage the body to flow to the next sequence.
4. Body Awareness & Listening Skills Students will learn how to recognize the difference between discomfort and pain, and how to adjust accordingly.
5. Use of Props & Modifications We will introduce blocks, straps, or even household alternatives. Show that yoga is adaptable—not about forcing flexibility.
6. Mindfulness & Relaxation We will explore a short guided relaxation (like Savasana) and introduce basic mindfulness principles. This ties into the mental health benefits of yoga, not just the physical.
7. Basic Yoga Etiquette & Class Structure Students will feel comfortable in future classes by learning:
- What to expect in a typical session
- Studio/class etiquette
- Common cues and terminology

Info: We will go over a brief summary of the origins of yoga and how it was brought to the united states.

Pranayama: Breath
Info: Breathing is essential in the practice of yoga. We will dive into different breathing techniques.

Sound Bowl Meditation
Info: We will host a sound bath and incorporate a breathwork session.

Asana Practice
Host: Briahna Knowles
Info: You will be guided through learning basic yoga poses and ending the workshop with a restorative yoga session led by @Briahnamarche
