In 1815 Thomas Kavanagh of Borris laid claim to the Bantry Commons, This is the story of the tenents who were denied their right to commonage on the mountain. It follows their 30 years struggle to regain these rights under the leadership of Fr. Thomas Furlong of Killegney, which culminated in a landmark legal case and earned Thomas Furlong the title "The King of Bantry"
