About this Event
TICKETS FOR THIS SHOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 22 AT 10AM
Hymie and Brandy Witthoft founded The Bandwitts during Brandy’s career in the U.S. foreign service. For seventeen years, they lived in Africa, Central Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Soaking up the local sounds and performing in an array of ensembles, they shared and showcased American roots music along with their original pieces.
Now back stateside, they have a refreshed lineup that includes Hymie on drum set and percussion, Brandy on bass, Jason King on guitar, and Joanne Perry on mandolin. They craft music that crosses genres and uses rich vocal harmonies to tell stories of the shared human experience.
Hymie’s and Brandy’s songs are award-winning, including being recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting from the Great American Song Contest and being selected as a finalist in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. As a longtime member of the Central New York music scene, Hymie has performed at just about every festival and venue in the region. He has played with the Westcott Jugsuckers for more than 30 years and co-founded The Gonstermachers.
