When he met drummer Juice Welch, they immediately formed a bond and began working on arrangements. A chance meeting between Harmon and Jonas Swanson (lead guitar, backing vocals) left the band one member short. KJ Ward (bass guitar) later joined and the four-piece was complete.

Thanks to their hopeful up-tempo jams The Backseat Lover tickets have been in demand since their very beginnings. The band fully formed in 2018 and Harmon started digging deeper into his songwriting collection to see what they could do. In the summer of 2018, the group released their debut EP entitled Elevator Days before playing their first show shortly after. With songs like “Out of Tune”, “Still a Friend” and “Address Your Letters” the album was well-received. A year later the group released their first full-length album entitled When We Were Friends.
