About this Event
'The Attentionist': A Workshop on Wisdom, Choice, & Freedom
You were not born afraid. Somewhere along the way, fear moved in — quietly, persistently — and started making decisions for you. This workshop is an invitation to find your way back.
Based on her book The Attentionist, author and UCLA’s senior mindfulness educator, Mitra Manesh, guides participants through an evening of teaching, personal inquiry, and guided practice. Drawing on decades of contemplative work and the Persian wisdom tradition she was raised in, she explores how fear quietly colonizes attention — and what becomes possible when attention is finally and fully your own.
Through reflection, paired practice, and shared witnessing, participants will identify the attention patterns shaping their lives and leave with a spoken commitment — witnessed by the room — to the life they are choosing.
"What you give your attention to over time is who you become."
Copies of 'The Attentionist: New Choices for a New World' will be available for purchase and signing. You can also order a copy of the book or
