Join the Gender Justice Project for our Artivism Circle launch and workshop as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination – Artivism Circle launch and workshop.
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination will be the launch event for the Gender Justice Project Artivism Circle, where we gather to converse and create art about gender justice issues, as well as envision futures of radical love and solidarity.
Often referred to as Harmony Day in Australia, returning to the original name as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination exposes the reality that we are far from being a racism-free society. In this workshop, participants will have an open discussion about what it means to be a woman or a gender diverse person of colour in Australia. Through the guidance of the facilitator, participants will design creative works to express messages for this important day that is guided by visions for a more equitable future that values diversity. Participants will paint their artworks and can choose to share their work in progress on the Gender Justice Project social media at the end of the session.
