About this Event
As winter gatherings bring friends and family together, we often turn to beloved recipes—those passed down through generations or newly discovered favorites. In this cozy, hands-on program, you'll have the chance to celebrate these traditions by creating your own illustrated recipe card.
Bring a recipe from your own collection, or be inspired by items from the Special Collections department's holdings. Menus and recipes from the Wine and Food Society of Baltimore Collection will be on display for inspiration. Also, a curated selection of historic illustrated cookbooks from the Rare Books Collection will be made available for participants to view. Recipes may be copied from the materials, and participants may take photographs of the items (no flash photography).
We'll provide all materials and inspiration to help you turn your chosen dish into a beautiful, hand-illustrated keepsake. No artistic experience necessary—just a love of food, stories, and creativity!
