About this Event
This is not your average flexibility workshop. It’s one thing to learn stretches, but its another thing to learn the science of the body and how it works! The Art of Stretch is a dynamic two-hour workshop designed for participants who are looking to achieve flexibility moves (splits, backbends), improve range of motion, start a flexibility journey, or to improve athletic performance.
The Art of Stretch is different because we not only teach you how to become more flexible, but how to increase and sustain flexibility while knowing more about the treasure that is your body. In other words, we teach the how and why of stretch. During class, we will dive into understanding the science of stretching, practicing various types of stretching (on the hips, legs, arms, back), indulging in mobility drills, and learning effective breathing techniques.
The workshop is very self-focused and self-paced. You are more than welcome to bring your goals and voice them. Also, there will be tools involved, such as blocks, walls, and even partners! But don’t be afraid! The workshop is instructor-led and modifications will be provided, as needed.
Whether you are looking to finally get that split or wanting to bring your knee to your chest, there is something here for you! Your ticket includes instruction, a participant guide, and light refreshments. Be sure to bring a mat, water, towel, socks, knee pads, leggings/long stretchy pants. We are about to put some WORK in.
