Learn the art of Japanese flower design and create your own beautifully delicate Ikebana flower arrangement to take with you!Have you ever wanted to make a beautiful Japanese flower arrangement? Learn the ancient art of Ikebana.
Instructor Dolly Smith will demonstrate and assist you in making a beautiful seasonal Moribana Upright arrangement using flat round “suiban” container with a kenzan (Flower Frog) both provided with class.
In this make and take class, you'll learn all about this intricate art form and receive instruction on creating your own unique flower arrangement to take home and enjoy.
Seasonal flowers, branches, and container will be provided along with a reusable 2.5” kenzan (flower frog). Note the image here is for promotional purposes only. Your arrangement will be subject to instructor preference and material availability.
Students will need to bring:
1. Floral Clippers
2. Pruning Shears (to cut small branches)
3. Container for water and floral materials. (Small Bucket)
4. Low box to take your arrangement home in.
About our Instructor
Dolly Smith has been studying Ikebana for over 20 years and has received the level of Ikenobo/Junkakyo Instructor 2nd Grade. She lives in Traverse City Michigan and is the current President of Traverse City Ikebana International Chapter #165.
