About this Event

The Art of Falconry: History, Skill, and Flight invites families to discover the fascinating world of falconry and birds of prey. Led by Erin Shanley of the Massachusetts Falconry and Hawk Trust, this engaging program shares stories about the history of falconry, what it takes to care for and work with raptors, and how these incredible birds are adapted for flight and hunting. Families will experience a live flight demonstration featuring Erin’s Harris’s hawk Scooter, offering an exciting, up-close opportunity to watch a raptor soar while building curiosity, respect, and connection to the natural world.
