Learn how to build creative, masterful and fun sequences for everyday practice.Yoga, like life, can be challenging, unstable and erratic. How we approach our physical practice can often be a reflection of how we approach life and sometimes we can become so fixated on an end goal that we forget to find joy and presence in the process. This fast-paced approach to modern life has also had an impact on the styles of yoga that we practise. For example, in what we call ‘Vinyasa', there is a common emphasis to rush through poses, resulting in the potential neglect of the movement's precision and excellence.
While numerous yoga workshops and trainings prioritise the technical components of the poses, very few explore the transitions between each pose, and how they can be used as a vehicle for creative expression.
This training will explore a variety of stylistic forms including motifs, techniques and transitions inspired by yoga, contortion, contemporary floor work, and acrobatics. In using these techniques, we will explore the endless possibilities of Asanas, and how we can use them, and transition our bodies in beautiful, creative, and purposeful sequences.
