China’s acclaimed Amber Quartet will be joined by four top musicians from Canterbury, led by Professor Mark Menzies, for a soul-stirring concert of string quartet and octet.
This extraordinary evening features a rich repertoire spanning from Debussy’s iconic String Quartet in G minor, Op.10 and Mendelssohn’s brilliant Octet in E-flat major, Op.20, to the contemporary Chinese work Totem by Zhang Zhao, and concludes with a heartfelt arrangement of the beloved Māori love song Pokarekare Ana. It is a magnificent celebration of cross-cultural musical dialogue, where Eastern and Western traditions converge to create an unforgettable auditory journey.
