This retrospective collection demonstrates the evolution of Peters’ artistry during his lifetime. The exhibit will be a journey through time and talent, beginning with award winning oil paintings completed during his studies at the School of Dayton Art Institute, and progressing to his familiar lively watercolors that brighten the walls of countless local homes.
An accomplished artist, Peters was a member of several prestigious artist societies and his works are represented in over 130 businesses and museum collections. His artwork has garnered over 40 awards, was shown in 58 multi-state exhibitions, and two of his works are published in “Exploring Color”, an instructional watercolor book now in its third printing.
Peters retired as the Director of Advertising and Creative services at Armco. His employer encouraged employees to become active in the community, making Middletown a better place to live and work. A true Middletonian, Bruce was a long-time community activist serving on numerous committees and boards, but made no bigger impact than on the Middletown Arts Center, having contributed over 100 paintings during a 30-year period to the MAC’s fundraising art auctions.
Continuing Peters’ legacy to safeguard the health and vitality of arts and culture in the Middletown community, the Peters family elected to donate the exhibited works, previously held in private collection, as a fundraising effort to benefit the Middletown Arts Center.
The highly collectible works are available for purchase online, and at the Middletown Arts Center, June 1 through July 27 via www.32auctions.com/brucepetersartauction.
The public is invited to a free opening reception on Saturday, June 11 from 1:00-3:00 pm.
The exhibition may be viewed during regular business hours through June 1 through July 27, 2022.
