The Art of Arting (Part 1 of 2) is a monthly class that to help you follow your curiosity, find your artistic voice, and build your artistic community.
You’ll make visual messes and masterpieces on a path scattered with fun and joy. And you’ll find the most beautiful thing … an affirming journey with other creatives to a deeper sense of self.
Each class we’ll explore different artistic mediums, work through common and personal challenges, and dig into what inspires us to make. You’ll learn skills to help you brainstorm new ideas, and
opportunities to explore new mediums or delve deeper into your medium of choice (eg. Painting, collage, writing, sewing, wood carving, etc).

Build your artistic community
Claim space for a regular art practice
Explore new mediums, or deepen your favorite medium
Work past your artistic hang-ups
It’s time to claim you power to express your life through art.

About the teacher:
Kate Thomas left her nice cushy design job to help people discovery and enjoy more art in their lives. The Art of Arting is her flagship program, one that’s been taught and enjoyed through
one-on-one coaching. This is the first group iteration, inspired by the ArtFarm Creative Circle who is persistent about building artistic community. Kate spent two decades as a graphic and website designer
prior to art coaching. She enjoys a large array of mediums, especially mixed media, sewing, and wood carving. You can find her artwork at katetheartcoach.com

FAQ
Am I skilled enough for this class?
Yes! As long as you enjoy making and exploring with visual art, and you’re willing to try new things, you’re welcome. We work to accommodate different abilities.
Is this class too simple for me?
If you’ve made lots of art but feel like you keep doing what other people tell you with your art, this class will be perfect for you. It will help you find your artistic voice/style through reflection and trial and error of different art mediums.
What types of art mediums will we be using?
We’ll do some drawing, pattern-making, and mixed media art among others. You’re welcome to bring your favorite medium (eg. Clay, sewing, painting, writing, drawing, wood working, etc.). The class exercises can be adapted on the spot for you.
What’s Part 2 of the Art of Arting?
Part 2 will be offered in the Winter of 2025. It will be another 3 session class that is led by the same core principles as this class but takes you further on your journey to explore:
