Matt Moyers has had a 25-year career at the intersection of Finance and Intellectual Property (IP). Matt’s financial consulting firm, Peak Value IP, LLC (Peak Value), focuses on Business, IP, and patent valuation, pricing, monetization, and strategy services. He has provided financial advisory services for public and private clients in over ~20,000 projects during his career. Matt has worked with large and small teams for companies of all sizes, across almost every major industry.
Matt’s original purpose as an objective appraiser of companies and businesses began to change around 2022. The unintended consequences of the American Invents Act (AIA) began to undermine the US patent system by throttling individual and small business inventors in favor of large incumbents. Working closely with individual and small company inventors was an important aspect of Peak Value’s business, but after witnessing countless inventors and clients lose their life’s work because of the changes brought forth by the AIA, Matt now advocates for change to the US Patent System. In certain specific situations, Matt will provide IP valuation services to early-stage companies that are building meaningful IP portfolios. As an advocate, Matt primarily focuses on writing a book for startups about the US Patent System, IP technology, and finance that he plans to publish in 2025. Matt has been named an IAM 300 top IP Strategist six times. Read more at: https://www.peakvalueip.com/
