The Amber Temple (Ōtepoti), DJs Juan T & Mech G at ONEONESIX - A double billing to take you through an immersive night of music and movement, first up we have ACT 1 - The Amber Temple.
An original music and interpretive dance collaboration between Dunedin based singer-songwriter Julian Temple and contemporary dancer Amber Stephens.
Temple, known mostly for his work in the eponymous Julian Temple Band has written all new works for the project while Stephens, a trained contemporary ballet dancer and choreographer who ran her own dance company in Vienna, has choreographed the interpretive dance for this unique emotive performance.

There’s an obvious sense of originality, coupled with carefully crafted dance moments and some of the most intense and outstanding folk songwriting you’ve heard. There’s a feeling though that nothing is premeditated and that improvisation is the star of the show - the kind of performance that requires decades of experience. This show marks the northern-most end of their 2025 NZ winter tour.
This beguiling blend of folk-based performative storytelling through live music and dance, is followed by Act 2 - DJs Juan T & Mech G - who will guide you into the second part of the night, where you can put your own feet to the dancefloor and become a part of the story yourself.
A chance to dance through the night with a quality PA, magical lighting and a blend of music incorporating elements of folk, indie, electro, psychedelia, world beat and spy lounge blending into more modern electronica as the night goes on.
Doors open at 7pm, The Amber Temple performs at 7:30, and DJs take you through to midnight before we head home with happy feet and satisfied souls.
