TonalTheory is a dynamic, DJ duo known for their take on high-energy, percussive driving, hard techno. Lending an homage to their classical backgrounds and incorporating melodic influences, their versatility and vision captivate audiences of all genres of music. Their cutting-edge productions has earned them a place in some of the industry’s notable labels such as Das Kollektive, Divine Intervention Records, Say What? Records, SINDEX, and Ōtomo, with additional releases on SUBSTANTIV, T Sessions, GRF Black, and Rated Records. Recently featured in Berlin’s KEYI Magazine, their latest EP “Keep Me Blushin’” has garnered support from some of the top industry producers including Dax J, SPFDJ, Charlotte de Witte, Richie Hawtin, Slam, Gotshell, Acierate, Renegade System, and many more.
In addition, major publications like 6AM, Shotgun, The Washington Post, EDM Identity, and XTINA have recognized their contributions to the techno scene, further solidifying their reputation. With numerous local and international releases, the duo launched their own label, Undertone, in 2021. Undertone has quickly become a beacon for boundary-pushing, and hopes to serve as a platform for like-minded producers to showcase their artistry.
Performing everywhere from warehouse raves to clubs and festivals, and headlining their own shows across North America, Europe, and Asia, their DJ sets are signified by relentless hard-hitting techno that simultaneously takes their listeners on a cathartic journey. Their sound has left lasting and impactful impressions in every city they have played. In addition to their headlining shows, and contributing to their local community by hosting their own label nights and collaborating with various clubs in DC, they have also supported and shared stages with techno and trance heavyweights alike, such as Perc, Marrøn, Charlotte de Witte, Sara Landry, Anfisa Letyago, Caravel, Julia Govor, ØTTA, Daria Kolosova, Felicie, Lukas Meunier, Dubfire, Indira Paganotto, Tapefeed, Renegade System, John Askew, Greg Downey, David Rust, Christopher Lawrence, Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet, Laidback Luke, Sharam, and Victor Calderone, which has solidified their presence in the scene as artists to look out for. TonalTheory’s innovative productions, relentless performances, and dedication to their craft and community make them a standout act in the techno scene.
