About this Event
A small, closed 4-week grief circle held on Sunday afternoons
Grief can feel especially heavy on Sundays.
When the week slows down, the noise fades, and the quiet can feel long and lonely.
The Afterglow Grief Circle is an in-person 4-week group meetup in Liverpool for those living with loss. It offers continuity, safety, and connection.
This is not therapy, and there is no fixing or pressure to 'move forward.'
It’s a human space for sharing, listening, grounding, and being witnessed by people who understand.
What to expect
Each 90-minute session follows the same calm, supportive rhythm:
- A gentle grounding exercise to help you arrive and settle
- A weekly theme to explore together
- Open sharing (always optional - listening is just as welcome)
- A simple reflection or practice to take into the week ahead
You’ll be given a notebook and pen to use throughout the four weeks, offering a private place to reflect, write, or simply hold your thoughts.
Weekly themes
While each circle will naturally unfold in its own way, the four weeks will gently explore:
- Week 1: Arriving in grief - where you are right now
- Week 2: Loneliness, quiet days, and why grief can feel so isolating
- Week 3: Grief in the body - exhaustion, anxiety, and self-compassion
- Week 4: What carries us - living alongside grief and glimmers of hope

About the facilitator
The circle is held by Rachel Hart-Phillips, a trauma-informed grief coach with lived experience of profound loss. Rachel creates spaces that are warm, grounded, and deeply human - where nothing needs to be fixed and everything can be spoken, or simply held.
A note on care
This circle offers peer support and facilitated reflection. It is not a substitute for therapy or crisis support. If you are in immediate distress, please reach out to appropriate support services.
