About this Event
The mission of The Actors Academy is to awaken the imagination, emotion, and intellect of the student artist by making him/her aware of the transforming power and universality of performance arts; and the skills required to achieve excellence.
We provide a platform for directors, acting coaches, casting agents, producers, and filmmakers to teach the techniques needed to develop and sustain a great performing arts career.

April 4, 2026 - 2:00PM- 4:00PM
Class Title: Characterization
Director: Isaac Loyal
Class Description: This class dives into the art of building a believable character from the inside out. Actors will explore how to create backstory, define motivations, and fully understand who their character is before stepping on stage or in front of the camera. We’ll examine the differences in physicality and movement between stage and on-camera performance. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn how to embody your character with clarity, confidence, and intention.

Class Title: Script Analysis and Scene Work
Director: Tammi Rogers
Class Description: A strong performance begins with a deep understanding of the script. In this class, actors will learn how to break down a script, identify objectives, uncover motivations, and analyze key details that shape character choices. We’ll apply these tools directly to scene work, performing selected scenes and receiving constructive feedback. Mastering script analysis ensures you bring the most informed, dynamic version of your character to every project.

Class Title: Improvisation
Director: David The Oh!
Class Description: Improvisation sharpens an actor’s ability to think quickly and respond truthfully in the moment. This class focuses on staying present, adapting to unexpected changes, and reacting authentically within a scene. Improv builds confidence, creativity, and strong listening skills—essential tools for any performer. When circumstances shift on stage or on set, you’ll be ready.
April 25, 2026 - 2:00PM- 4:00PM
Class Title: Vocal Technique
Director: Deanna Neal
Class Description: Your voice is one of your most powerful instruments as an actor. This class will teach breath control, projection, vocal strength, and how to adjust tone and cadence for stage, television, radio, and podcasting. Led by a public radio professional, actors will learn how to shape their voice to fit character and medium. Whether performing live or behind a mic, you’ll gain the tools to command attention with clarity and control.
