Howdy folks- it’s almost time for the Tulip Century again! For anyone who’s new to this event, this is basically a 100mi route in the shape of a giant Tulip that I developed over the course of about 2 years. I first rode the route in 2019 with a few of you guys, and it went so well we decided it should be enjoyed by more! 2026 will mark the 7th edition of Tulip Time’s next best tradition.
Returning this year are the Tulip Century t-shirts!! These will use the same graphics as last year with a new colorway. The purchase price of $30 includes $21 for the shirt itself and $9 of proceeds that will go to Velo Kids. Orders are live at the link below, which will be open until May 4!

As in the past, I’m requesting that participants contribute to Velo Kids and/or share with others you know to support your ride. Suggested donation is $20 (or more!) Donations additional to any t-shirt purchases can be made at the link below or in person when you show up at the ride.

The short details:
Date: Sunday May 3rd, 2026
Start time: 7am
Start/finish location: Howard B. Dunton Park (290 Howard Ave, Holland, MI 49424)
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35872522
Procedural details:
- There will not be be any aid stops or SAG support, nor will there be any traffic control or course markings. Think of this as a 100mi group ride with a great Strava art payoff when you’re done!
- Advertised group pace will be “medium,” or about 18mph average. Faster or slower groups can obviously be formed if enough people come, but no promises.
- You can see all the details in the route, but we’ll ride the north side first, making the shape of the tulip bloom. We’ll plan to stop by Dunton Park before crossing to the south side (about mile 55) in case anyone wants to shed warm clothes or restock on food and water. The south side then forms the stem and leaves, passing through Tulip Lane twice along the way.
- The route includes about 3mi of gravel/dirt. You should be fine on a road bike, but don't be surprised to see a blip of dirt here and there.
- Make sure you have the route! Ideally on a gps unit, but at least save it on your phone or something.
