Join us for the 7th Annual Domestic Violence Rally Walkathon to Washington Capitol and raise awareness to end domestic violence.
About this Event

Welcome to the 7th Annual Domestic Violence Rally Walkathon at the Washington Capitol!

Join us at the for a day of unity and support. Let's raise awareness and stand against domestic violence together. Lace up your shoes and march with us to make a difference. This in-person event is a powerful way to show solidarity and advocate for change.

DESCRIPTION OF EVENT:

  • This is a vigil and a walkathon to the U.S. Capitol
  • Special speakers and organizations to speak at the location
  • Organizations, community leaders, Businesses, Politicians, and nonprofits are welcome.
  • NO ADVERTISEMENTS ON BANNERS, NO QR CODES, or WEBSITE LINKS ON YOUR BANNER OR SIGNS
  • Everyone is welcome of all ages
  • No balloons, candles, or sparklers on the grounds. We always hand out butterflies as a remembrance of this event.
  • THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR THE PUBLIC. All organizations, speakers, and attendees will not be paid, nor will donations or sponsors fund this event. FFT Helping Others LLC is hosting this event.
  • Wear Casual attire and your sneakers. Most will be wearing purple or their custom organization apparel.
  • Please be prepared to walk 19 minutes from the starting point to the US Capitol. Starting point: Capitol Hill Seventh Day adventist church, 914 Massachusetts Avenue, to the US Capitol, Washington, DC. Please see the picture for location information.
  • Please bring a chair or blanket to sit in the Washington Capitol grass area. We are providing volunteers to set up chairs or blankets. You can drop off at the endpoint destination, the US Capitol, for our volunteers to set up for you. If you cannot walk, our volunteer coordinator will be there to greet attendees and speakers.
  • THERE WILL BE NO TABLE SET UP FOR ORGANIZATIONS / NO BOOTHS / but you can hand out flyers, pamphlets, or custom items to attendees. Bring your volunteers to hand out and provide to the crowd. Please make sure to check our GALA information for Saturday, the 4th, which will be available soon. There will be an opportunity for tables and booths there.
  • This is not a loud and crazy event- this is an awareness event
