The 5-Minute Intrapreneur: Fast-Track Lessons from Calgary’s Innovation Enablers
Ideas are easy; execution inside a corporate structure is where the real battle lies. Join Calgary’s brightest corporate operators for a high-energy, closed-door session featuring rapid-fire stories of internal transformation. Inspired by the visual, fast-paced Japanese style of PechaKucha, our speakers get just 5 minutes and 10 visual slides to drop their biggest insights—cutting through the corporate slide-deck bloat so we can get straight to the real, raw peer discussions that matter. Stick around from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM for a hosted social hour with drinks and snacks to keep the conversation going.
Ideas are cheap. Speed is everything. Welcome to a different kind of conversation.
Innovation in large organizations doesn't fail because of a lack of ideas. It fails because of slide-deck bloat, decision paralysis, and the endless corporate chatter that smothers a spark before it can catch.
In 2003, designers in Tokyo got fed up with death-by-PowerPoint and invented PechaKucha (peh-CHAK-cha)—a radical format designed to share big ideas fast and visually.
We’re not doing a standard, strict PechaKucha night. Instead, we’ve taken inspiration from that high-velocity Japanese philosophy to build a custom format tailored specifically for our corporate innovation community: Up to 10 slides. 60 seconds per slide. 5 minutes total. No text-heavy paragraphs. No hiding behind data. Just raw, unfiltered storytelling designed to be an immediate conversation starter. On April 30th, we are pulling back the curtain on how Calgary's brightest operators are driving internal change, building modern cultures, and hacking corporate systems from the inside out.
Welcome to the next Calgary Innovation Peer Forum EXPERIENCE Session.

The Experience
June 4th, 2026 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM The Deloitte Greenhouse, Calgary
We are reclaiming the power of the room. This isn’t a passive lecture; it’s a high-energy, closed-door environment where the constraints of a fast, visual format force the sharpest versions of the truth. Five minutes of razor-sharp focus from our speakers, followed by a room full of collective problem-solving.
Session Theme: PechaKucha-Inspired Innovation Enablers
We will explore what it actually takes to drive innovation from inside a traditional organization through four core lenses:
- Systemic Change in Corporate: How to build faster pathways for new ideas inside massive organizations—and the scars earned making it happen.
- Calgary Impact: How internal corporate work ripples outward to fuel and strengthen Calgary’s broader tech and innovation ecosystem.
- Culture Building: The exact programs, decisions, and psychological safety tools used to shift traditional teams into an innovation mindset.
- Resource Sharing: The messy reality of cross-organization collaboration—sharing talent, tools, and tech across Calgary's industries.
The Agenda
The Fast & Visual Showdown
Witness a series of rapid-fire, inspired presentations from peer intrapreneurs.
- Images Over Text: Speakers are aiming for 10 words or fewer per slide. The voice carries the story; the visuals support the weight.
- One Theme, One Arc: Watch how strict constraints force speakers to cut the corporate jargon and share real, tactile experiences.
- Feedback: Following the presentations we include five minutes for questions in a "yes, and" format.
