About this Event
Join us for the 2nd Incredible Summer Boat Tour: Massport’s Strategy for Boston Harbor!"! June 26, 2026 from 1:30PM - 4PM. This fantastic event is sponsored by the American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter (APA-MA) and organized by the Chapter's Social Event Coordinators Melisa Tintocalis and Alyssa Sandoval: both who are working hard with their outreach to keep the professional planning community involved with the Chapter.
This 2.5 - hour PRIVATE tour, hosted by Charles River Boat Company, offers spectacular views of Boston Harbor, while hearing from our very special guest speaker Hayes Morrison - Deputy Strategy Officer at the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport)! Hayes will discuss how the region’s most influential public agencies approach redevelopment along Boston Harbor.
While taking in stunning views of the city attendees will hear about how MassPort:
- evaluates and prioritizes redevelopment opportunities across its unique waterfront assets.
- is addressing climate resilience with its approaches to planning and future development.
- provides a model of how public agencies can partner with private sector to forward new and redevelopment opportunities that may not be possible without collaboration.
- views projects MassPort feels reflect their greatest successes.
All of this set against the backdrop of a dynamic and evolving harbor this conversation brings strategy to life and offers a terrific event that will connect policy, place, and projects!
