❤️ The Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides is a national movement that raises critical funds and awareness to provide life-changing Dog Guides to Canadians at no cost. It also builds an inclusive, community-driven movement that supports accessibility, independence, and mobility for people with disabilities.
💜 The Caribou Child and Youth Centre has two facility support dogs, Pluto and Sky, who were bred, raised, trained and matched to the Caribou Centre at no cost, from the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, despite each dog guide costing $35,000. Because of the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Pluto and Sky can support youth victims/witnesses of crime throughout the criminal investigation and criminal court process not only in Grande Prairie but also in the surrounding rural communities.
❤️ Providing dog guides to Canadians is made possible entirely through fundraising events and donations, as they receive no operational funding from the government, making the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides critical in raising awareness and funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, who currently have over 1,000 dog guide teams across Canada, with teams in every province.
If your business would be interested in setting up a booth to donate drinks/food or have a food truck you'd like to offer to provide services, please reach out to the Caribou Centre at 780-814-7223
