About this Event
Join the Ventura County Escrow Association for an in-person educational experience designed to bring clarity, collaboration, and confidence to one of the most critical transaction types in real estate.
This session will feature a focused discussion on the 1031 Exchange, highlighting the role of escrow and title professionals as facilitators, coordinators, and compliance partners throughout the transaction process. While the exchange itself is driven by tax strategy, its success depends heavily on accurate communication, proper handling of funds, and alignment between all parties involved.
Led by James Bean and Jennifer Felten, this collaborative session will provide practical insight into exchange structures, timelines, documentation, and the responsibilities that directly impact escrow performance and client outcomes.
Participants will gain a working understanding of how to identify exchange transactions, navigate communication with Qualified Intermediaries, and avoid common errors that can create risk or disrupt the process.
In addition to the educational session, the evening will include a Community Spotlight featuring Michelle Ascension, candidate for re-election as Ventura County Clerk Recorder, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with local leadership and stay informed on matters impacting the industry.
Dinner and drinks will be provided.
This event is ideal for escrow officers, title professionals, transaction coordinators, and industry partners seeking to strengthen their knowledge, expand their network, and stay aligned with best practices in today’s evolving market.
Seating is limited and ticket sales end on Friday, May 15, 2026.
