Our Speaker:
Tansy Cooper is the area Landscape Recovery Project Liaison Officer, for the Environment Agency in the Environment Programmes Team.
Landscape Recovery is a pilot scheme , under the Environmental Lands Management ( ELM) Scheme, where landowners are paid for ambitious, collaborative , longer term, larger scale projects , to enhance the natural environment.Prior to this, she worked as an Environment Officer in the Area Land and Water Team, responding to pollution incidents, (including for sewage pollution and agricultural contamination). Tansy also worked on checking environmental compliance, for farms, businesses and other landowners, providing advice and guidance on how to prevent pollution and protect the environment.
Before this she worked in Groundwater and Contaminated Land, working on many groundwater protection projects, including Groundwater Source Protection and Safe Guard Zones and the clean groundwater network. Tansy knows her water.
Tansy is a core member of the Debenham Green Team and helps with the Debenham end of the DCC Citizen Science project.
