What will you Learn?

The problems we wrestle with in life don’t happen in isolation. We all exist in a web of connections with others that impact every aspect of who we are. Psychology refers to this web as systems. A relationship dynamic will be involved when we’re stuck, in pain, or wrestling with an inner or outer dilemma. When trying to change, we must address what is happening inside ourselves (emotionally and cognitively) and outside in our connection with others. 

We learn more by experience than through the intellect. Emerging from our childhoods, our sense of identity and self are largely sculpted by intense experience, whether positive or negative. Healing and reclaiming of self also must be an intense, safe emotional experience. This is the TGP Awakening. We learn how to 'wake up' the internal pathways to reclaiming a level of authenticity, which is the essential ingredient for a healthy self and healthy relationships.

Catherine & Duane O’Kane are authors, international speakers, and psychotherapists with several decades of experience specializing in Transformational Group Process.

Catherine has a Master’s degree in Psychology, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Supervisor and has been a practicing therapist engaged in personal and professional development since 1993.

Duane is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a lengthy mental health and social services background, since he satrted in the field in the late 80s.

They are both passionate about helping people find their way back to a fuller sense of themselves and into meaningful connection in all their significant relationships.

They live together, work together, have raised a family, and continue to love each other through life’s passages. For many years, they leaned into the popular idea that their primary relationship was the key to their happiness – or unhappiness. They now see the human need for connection in a much bigger context. This informs every aspect of how they live and work.

What is Transformational Group Process?


Transformational Group Process is an experiential and relational form of group therapy. We've been working with groups in various settings for decades. What we've realized over the years is that it is the collective experience that transforms. We're beginning to understand more about why that is.

When we form connections in our lives we are likely to gravitate toward similar people, like a 'club'. When a more random group of people sign up for a workshop, the only common factor is the desire to grow. You may end up hearing from another group member who reminds you of someone you struggle with. Through the process, your view of both the person sharing and the person they remind you of shifts. You are likely to feel empathy and compassion, often in places you didn't expect.

In group process, you're very likely to hear from others who share struggles similar to your own. As we work with that person, you get to have the emotional experience of their process along with them. Their process becomes yours, and you benefit from the greater self-awareness seeing yourself in another provides. This shared journey fosters a deeper understanding of not just others, but of yourself, creating a network of mutual support and growth.

This structured therapeutic process can be a launching pad for your personal evolution and real life relationships.


How does it differ from one-on-one therapy?


In one-on-one therapy, the focus is mainly on your inner world. A therapist working with you will use the safety and dynamics of your relationship to help you become more self-aware and grow. This kind of therapy creates a safe space where you can work through past hurts, understand yourself better, and try being more authentic in your everyday life.

Transformational Group Process gives you the added benefit of connecting with others who, like you, are eager to grow, from all walks of life. While a one-on-one therapist can help you make significant personal breakthroughs, they can't offer the unique, life-changing insights you get from seeing others be vulnerable, share your struggles, and provide direct insight into what might be going on in your relationships. WORKSHOP CANCELLATIONS, REFUND AND TRAVEL POLICY

Catherine and Duane O’Kane Inc. (referred to in this document as CDOK)

Disputes:

CDOK is a Canadian company, and as such any disputes will be solely settled in a court in the Jurisdiction of Canada or BC. The credentials, designations, and qualifications of facilitators are designations assigned in Canada. The same or similar designations may mean something different in your country or area of residence. You as the participant understand that we do not make any representations about what our qualifications, designations, or credentials mean in your particular jurisdiction.

Confidentiality:

You agree you are participating in this workshop of your own volition, and any information you share about your personal life and experiences is of your own choosing. You understand your information is held confidential within the CDOK organization as a whole, and will not be shared externally without appropriate permissions. You understand that you will be provided with an informed consent document to review and sign that further details confidentiality.

Proprietary Information:

You understand that the teachings, processes, audio-visual material of works, and other material containing proprietary information, originating from or through CDOK, may be used solely for personal use and is not to be distributed without permission.

CANCELLATION OF A WORKSHOP BY THE CLIENT

4 day workshops (or less):

  • Workshop prices include a specified non-refundable, non- transferable administration fee to hold your spot. Any refund provided will be the amount paid less the specified administration fee.
  • For cancellations up to one week prior to the workshop start date: full refund minus the administration fee – or the option to credit to a future workshop.
  • For cancellations from one week to the day of the workshop – no refund. Any fees paid, less the specfied administration fee, will be held as a credit toward a future workshop.
  • For cancellations, after the workshop has started - no refund.
  • After you have registered for a workshop and up to one week before the workshop begins, should you wish to transfer your registration to another date, a small transfer fee will apply, as well as any difference in workshop costs.

5 day workshops (or more):

  • Workshop prices include a specified non-refundable, non-transferable administration fee. Any refund provided will be the amount paid less the specified administration fee.
  • Cancellations/Transfers within 14 days of registration: full refund or credit. No transfer fee applies.
  • Cancellations/Transfers prior to 6 months before the workshop: full refund minus specified administration fee.
  • Cancellations/Transfers between 6 months and 3 months prior to the workshop: refund/transfer/credit is the amount of registration paid less 25% of the total registration fee, which is required.
  • Cancellations/Transfers between 3 months and 2 weeks: refund/transfer/credit is the amount of registration paid less 50% of the total registration fee, which is required.
  • Less than 2 weeks remaining prior to the workshop: refund/credit/transfer is not available. Full fees apply.

Note: Refunds are issued in the currency of purchase. If the currency needs to be converted for the refund, then the current currency rate, and not the currency rate at the time of the order, is used in the conversion. The charges will be subject to the currency exchange rates in effect through your credit card or bank at the time of the charge. This means that even if we issue a full refund, the amounts that appear on your statement are unlikely to match, due to the different buying/selling rates banks charge for currency exchange.


CANCELLATION OF A WORKSHOP BY CATHERINE AND DUANE O’KANE Inc

Catherine and Duane O’Kane Inc workshops are confirmed to go ahead when they have a minimum group size booked. CDOK reserves the right to cancel any workshop for any reason.

When a workshop is cancelled by CDOK before the agreed date of commencement for any reason other than Force Majeure or the fault of the Client, the Client can either:

· Transfer the registration to the next available workshop equivalent or higher price if CDOK is able and willing to offer such a substitute and pay any difference in price between the price of the workshop originally purchased.

· Receive a full refund of all monies paid under the contract as soon as possible.

CDOK is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that the Client may have incurred as a result of the booking, such as visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment, etc. If the Client is offered a refund but requests an alternative workshop of a value than that originally booked, then the Client must pay the difference in price.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Whether you are traveling to a workshop within Canada, or to one of the destination workshops we strongly recommend you investigate and consider travel insurance.

Travel insurance can protect you against cancellations, lost luggage, medical expenses and more. Each Travel insurance policy is different and can be tailored to meet your needs.

We don’t want you to miss this amazing experience, but sometimes the unexpected happens! From time-to-time workshops may be cancelled or dates changed, this can be due to low registration or other factors. Ensuring that you have appropriate travel insurance coverage can really decrease stress and financial pain. Please contact your travel advisor or insurance broker for more details.

What Personal Information do we Collect?

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK or the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

· We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.

· Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts approved for use in the UK or the EU which give personal data the same protection it has in the UK and the EU.

Data Security

· The rights to access, update or to delete the information we have on you. Whenever made possible, you can access, update or request deletion of your personal data directly within your account settings section. If you are unable to perform these actions yourself, please contact us to assist you.

· The right of rectification. You have the right to have your information rectified if that information is inaccurate or incomplete.

· The right to object. where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms; you have the right to object to our processing of your personal data.

· The right of restriction. You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information.

· The right to data portability. You have the right to be provided (or to request that we provide a third party with) with a copy of the information we have on you in a structured, machine-readable, and commonly used format.

· The right to withdraw consent. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where CDOK relied on your consent to process your personal information.

No fee usually required

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive. Alternatively, we could refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

What we may need from you

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

Time limit to respond

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.

You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada ( OPC )or the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues, or your local data protection authority. We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach any relevant data protection authority, so please contact us in the first instance

Lawful Basis

Legitimate Interest means the interest of our business in conducting and managing our business to enable us to give you the best service and the best and most secure experience. This may also include the interest of us providing you with our services, including healthcare for which you have requested or attending sessions/workshops.
