The de Magpyrs are the sort of vampires that would have Count Dracula spinning in his coffin. They are modern, forward-looking Vampyres who are no longer afraid of holy water, garlic, religious symbols or, indeed, of anything else. This makes them very, very, very dangerous.
Unfortunately Mightily Oats has not picked a good time to be a priest. Little does he suspect when turning up for the royal naming that Lancre’s newest residents are Vampyres. They’ve got style and fancy waistcoats. They’ve come out of the coffin and want a bite of the future.
But they haven’t met the neighbours yet: between them and Lancre stand Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg. And Queen Magrat, who is trying to combine witchcraft and nappies. And young Agnes, although she is really in two minds about everything. Mightily Oats knows he has a prayer, but he wishes he had an axe.
As the residents of Lancre are about to discover, it will take more than garlic and crucifixes to take back their home.
