Terry Baine ends off his 3-country Interplanetary Asylum Seeker Tour with a return to Kulturhuset in Oslo.
Terry Baine is a Canadian-Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist. With influences as varied as John Martyn, Pete Townshend and Gordon Lightfoot, Baine uses a mix of folk, rock and blues to take us on intricate lyrical journeys. This concert at Kulturhuset coincides with the vinyl-release of Baine’s most recent album, Waiting For Euterpe, and is part of an international tour that has included concerts in the UK and Canada.
Terry Baine started his music career playing in festivals and pubs in his hometown of Hamilton, Canada. In 1982, he was posted to a small village in Nigeria to teach chemistry and mathematics. His experiences during his two years in Nigeria and a subsequent year-long backpacking trip to other parts of Africa and to Asia provided the inspiration for many of the songs on his first two albums. Moving to Ottawa in 1985, Baine quickly became part of the Ottawa folk music scene while simultaneously working as a teacher at a local high school. And it was also in Ottawa that Terry first teamed with legendary Ottawa music producer and bassist Phillip Victor Bova, who has produced and recorded all four of Terry’s albums to date: Fourth World (1989), Hamilton Operator (1998), A Little Madness (2022), and his latest release, Waiting For Euterpe (2025).
Terry Baine lives in Norway, where he continues to write, perform and record.
And since mid-2022, Baine has been collaborating with award-winning UK-filmmaker Raphael Assaf.
Thus far, they have produced music videos of songs from two of Terry’s previously-released albums.
