About this Event
Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) are an innovative sequence of movements and poses designed to activate a healing reflex mechanism in the body that is felt as shaking, vibrating, tremoring, or fascial stretches. These neuro-muscular tremors naturally and organically release stress, tension and trauma that is held in our body’s muscular tissues and fascia.
This course is designed to introduce you to the wonderful world of TRE and give you the foundational tools and knowledge for your ongoing self-practice and exploration.
A group setting is a fun and social way of getting started on your journey with TRE.

What is TRE?
All mammals have a primal impulse to shake after a stressful situation. This is because shaking or tremoring is a natural way to release tension and stress from the body. However, us humans have been socially conditioned to try and stop or tense against shaking; misunderstanding that our bodies are supporting us to regulate our nervous system and come back into a state of balance.
TRE stands for Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises and was created by Dr David Berceli. The process includes a set of 7 exercises for grounding and feeling the body which gently lead us into activating this internal shaking reflex in a safe and controlled way.
Why try TRE?
- Allows the body to release old stuck defence strategies and turn down ‘over-protective’ reflexes
- Activates the vagus nerve and regulates the nervous system
- Reduces tension from within the muscles and fascia
- Promotes feelings of safety, connection and groundedness
- Improves mood, sleep, digestion, pain, and emotional regulation and relationships!
- It’s easy to learn and have a practice you can use for life!
Advisory Info
All participants must be over 18 years old.
All levels are welcome, from regular shakers to those completely new to TRE. We will be learning a set of 7 simple exercises that are designed to gently fatigue and stretch big muscle groups so we can reconnect to the tremor reflex.
A group class is not recommended for anyone with severe trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, burnout and serious health conditions or those who find it very challenging to self-regulate (unable to calm down when emotionally distressed). It is recommended to initially work in 121 sessions.
This group is not suitable if you are currently pregnant. If you have had a recent operation, surgery or experienced a serious injury, it is best to allow yourself a minimum of 3 or more months to recover before doing TRE.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more information or would like to discuss your individual circumstances.
