Join us on May 29th and 30th at the Tennessee State Capitol for our annual Tennessee Civics Workshop! During this two-day event, educators will see and experience the three branches of state government while using the historic state capitol building and state museum as their headquarters.
We will explore the structure and workings of each branch. Highlights include a mock legislative session in the House Chamber, a tour of the Tennessee Supreme Court Building, talks with government officials, activities you can use with your students in the classroom, and more! Educators will also receive a $400 travel stipend, free lunches, and Professional Development Points.
State government is a great place to learn how to become more civically engaged and to deepen your understanding of how it all works. If you are interested in including more civics-based education into your classroom. Registration is very limited and is on a first come first-served basis. Participants must be active Tennessee K-12 educators. For questions, please email [email protected].
