Tending Space: Processing Climate Emotions Through a Nature-Based Lens

This outdoor workshop invites participants to explore and process complex emotions related to climate change. Through guided nature-based practices, we will create space to identify, name, and sit with the full range of feelings that arise when witnessing environmental change—from grief and overwhelm to gratitude and inspiration. Grounded in therapeutic principles, this reflective and educational experience offers permission to feel, to be witnessed, and to cultivate a deeper understanding of how climate emotions show up in our bodies, minds, and relationships. While facilitated by a registered clinical counsellor, this workshop is designed to support personal exploration and learning in a group setting rather than serve as a therapy session.
About the Facilitator

Emily Potts (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in North Vancouver, BC, with a background in climate science, outdoor guiding, and group facilitation. Emily's therapeutic practice is rooted in feminist, intersectional, and climate-informed care. She believes that our mental, physical, and emotional well-being is deeply connected to the systems and environments around us.
