St Martin's Players are delighted to bring you Ten Times Table by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Stephen Brody.Set in the run-down Swan Hotel, Ten Times Table by Alan Ayckbourn follows the chaotic efforts of a village committee as they plan a pageant to commemorate the obscure "Massacre of the Pendon Twelve." But when Chairman Ray’s conservative wife and a left-wing schoolteacher clash over the event's direction, their meetings quickly spiral into a comedic battleground of conflicting ideologies. As the day of the pageant approaches, the committee’s infighting leads to a hilariously riotous re-enactment that mirrors the very rebellion they’re meant to celebrate. Written in 1977, Ayckbourn’s play remains strikingly relevant today, offering sharp, humorous insights into the timeless nature of political divisions and the absurdity of human behaviour. A masterful comedy not to be missed!
