TEMPO: Training / Emerging / Musisians / Professional Opportunities

Mission:

An immersion program for youth artists that are seeking college and career preparation and advancement in the music industry.

Vision:

A program that targets ages 14-19 yrs old bridging the gaps in education for aspiring youth music industry professionals by offering real-world experience in venues, performance, and the music industry. This program equips students with practical skills, preparing them to thrive as professionals in the music field. It enhances the prospects of those aiming to pursue music education in college by providing hands-on, work-based learning, while also preparing students to enter the music industry directly if they choose to forgo college.

It is the only program of its kind in the region that combines college and career preparation with a paid, work-based learning experience and one-to-one mentorship with some of the region's leading active professionals. Upon completion, each student will receive a letter of recommendation, resume guidance and opportunities for further paid employment within the industry and paid opportunities inside of Roots Music Project.

What Makes This Spring Session Special:

This Spring session of TEMPO expands the balance between cohort-based learning, 1:1 mentorship, and real-world production experiences. In addition to Play w/ Pros, students will participate in structured branding and release planning, live video and studio recording pathways, songwriting instruction, and stage management opportunities tied to real events.

New elements include live video production, YouTube and Bandcamp creation with a four-week songwriting course, Logic Pro and Ableton Live workshops, music theory, expanded studio tracking sessions with Pro Musicians, and direct involvement in festival and concert production.
