About Temple Step Project-
At the intersection of unified culture, ancient soul and electronic mastery resides the multi-genre fusions of Temple Step - a style and statement of music revered for igniting dance floors, hearts and transcendental shifts.

Music Producer, Benjamin Last, is defined by the mark of a maverick in the pursuit of creating extraordinary music that stands for oneness, passion and transformation. For 25 years, Temple Step has literally brought global culture to the people, bringing sets, ceremony and awakening to Live Performances, Ecstatic Dance and Sound Healing workshops.

His prolific career in studio production and stage performance has forged pioneering explorations into tribal-ethno-electronic flavours. Freelancing as a Producer, DJ and Sound Healer, he draws from an instrumental spread of beats, percussion, ethnic melodic instruments, synths, vocals and bold use of bass. Seamlessly, worlds are blended and timelines merge, all through the language of his music. The artist insists on sound as sacred; a vibrational, alchemical tool. With it, he evokes states and feelings that invite audiences to embrace full creative expression.

Temple Step has collaborated and remixed with artists such as Dub FX, Desert Dwellers, Deya Dova, Peruquois, Nessi Gomes, Ganga Giri, Murry Kyle, Wild Marmalade, Raio, Darpan and satisfied local and international festival circuits including Beloved Festival (USA), Sonic Bloom (USA), Rainbow Serpent (AUS), Earth Frequency (AUS), Woodford (AUS), Earthdance (AUS) and Bali Spirit Festival (INDO). He is the Principal Producer of Motiv Music – an international music production company. The Temple Step studio is based in Melbourne serving clientele, locally and abroad.

Soundscapes spanning breath to bass, echoes of ecstasy, the pulse of the primal merged with electronic mastery. Temple Step is a sensory experience that is transcendental and pure. Achieved by deep, spacious immersions into the heart of the soul, into the soul of the sound. An invitation to the quantum and a musical prayer for all that is sacred, when you arrive at the portal’s gateway of this sonic temple.

Music Producer, Benjamin Last, is defined by the mark of a maverick in the pursuit of creating extraordinary, multi-genre fusions that stand for unity, passion and transformation. For 25 years, Temple Step has literally bought the shaman to the people, bringing sets, ceremony and spiritual awakening to live performance and unique sound-healing meditations. Forging new paths with pioneering explorations into tribal-ethno-electronic flavours, the artist draws from a playful, instrumental spread of percussion, flute, synth, vocals, sansula and bold use of bass.

His first enquiry into music began as a teenager when he thrust into heavy metal with a drum kit. Jamming with mates, he was awestruck by the sheer power, volume, intensity and tension he was able to explore in the music. The connection between his own emotional terrain and the scope of self expression made audible, kick-started his lifelong love affair with sound and the ability of high-quality music to take you ‘beyond’.

Today, Temple Step freelancers as a Producer, DJ and Sound Healer. With clear intent, he applies music as a method to support the evolution of consciousness, uplift humanity and have a rock’n good time on dance floors. His own forays into ritual, ceremony and communion with the divine have heavily influenced the Temple Step game, to artfully transform and un-tame the human condition, to embrace its shape-shifting moods, to activate personal breakthrough and unity consciousness that hold audiences spellbound for more.

The Temple Step ethos is felt in every mastered production. The artist insists on music and sound as sacred, vibrational tools for transformation and seeks to evoke states and feelings that enable audiences their fullest expression. Benjamin brings his own sensitive nature to the production suite and performance stage, inviting us to ‘go there’. To deepen explorations of consciousness and trust the music can usher you into wholeness.

His meditative soundscapes are described as lush, awe-inspiring, breathtaking and body-centric in their ability to holistically move you into the here-and-now, and from there, drink in the medicine of the music. Temple Step has a knack for supporting transitions from one state of consciousness to another, while beautifying the associated chaos and disorder that dissolves as the heart awakens.

Benjamin’s original work has been enjoyed live at festivals, clubs, workshops, corporate events, ceremonies, sound healings, and for music/meditation compilations. His performance circuit includes Beloved Festival (USA), Sonic Bloom (USA), Rainbow Serpent (AUS), Earth Frequency (AUS), Woodford (AUS), Earthdance (AUS), smaller-scale gigs and resident DJ slots. He has performed with countless world music acts and facilitated opening ceremonies at festivals internationally.

He has collaborated and remixed with other artists such as Desert Dwellers, Deya Dova, Peruquois, Ganga Giri, Murray Kyle, Wild Marmalade, Raio, Darpan and Fire Mane. Previously signed by Desert Trax Records (USA) and Principal Producer of Motiv Music – an international music production company – the Temple Step studio is based in Melbourne serving local and abroad clientele. With his artistic muse and life partner, Madhu Honey, Benjamin co-hosts, manages and DJs Melbourne Ecstatic Dance, a fortnightly conscious dance and sound-healing event featured also at Buddha Bar, Conscious Club in Melbourne.

‘I serve the unity. I use music to generate connectivity.
Diversity is where you’ll find me.
Full-spectrum feeling is where you’ll find me.
The ancient bass, call of flutes, flights of prayers, the voice of Gaia. All that is present in Temple Step is designed to uplift and inspire.
All this is present in you, is welcome. It is the art and my honour to take you beyond.’

- Benjamin Last
