Join us for a hands-on workshop as part of the Latin American Heritage Month Festival by Latincouver and learn the art of creating a traditional Panamanian "tembleques" headpiece! These intricate and beautiful adornments are a hallmark of Panamanian culture, often worn during festive celebrations like Carnival. In this in-person workshop, you'll be guided through the process of crafting your own "tembleques" using authentic materials. Whether you're new to this craft or have some experience, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with the rich traditions of Panama and take home a piece of cultural art that you created yourself.
Latincouver is proud to celebrate the sixth year of Latin American Heritage Month in BC with a vibrant mix of artist performances, art exhibitions, workshops, forums, and events both in person and online. This annual celebration honours the rich culture of Latin America and its significant influence in BC and Canada.
Join us from October 15 to November 3, 2024, to experience the vitality and diversity of Latin American heritage. Events will take place at Granville Island, University Canada West, and the Latin Plaza Hub.
