Enjoy a guided tour of the night sky led by Astronomer Wes Tobin. Views will be provided through our large 16” research telescope and small 5” telescopes, or you can bring your own telescope for a night of fun that will be truly astronomical! This event is meant for people of all ages. The general public is welcome!Wes will give a Green-Laser-guided, naked-eye night sky tour of the bright stars and views of Lunar Craters, Andromeda Galaxy, Hercules Cluster, Ring Nebula, Dumbbell Nebula, and maybe a few other Galaxies through our large 16" research telescope and small 5" telescopes.
Attendees are welcome to come and go as they please between 8:00 PM (Sunset is at 8:24 PM) and 11:30 PM. The bright walkway lights will be covered and redirected downward, allowing great views while maintaining safety.
Attendees are also welcome (and encouraged) to bring their own telescopes. Wes will be available to discuss and assist in aligning and using telescopes as needed. Feel free to arrive early with your telescope to practice finding the moon!
Discussions about all things astronomy are welcome!
A "Go" or "No-Go" weather decision will be posted on Facebook on the morning of Tuesday, April 21st. If cloudy, the backup date is Tuesday, April 28th.
