About this Event
TAMACC, in collaboration with Amigos en Azul, EGBI, HABLA, HWNT, and LULAC, invites you to the Tejano Day celebration on April 4, 2025. This vibrant event will occur from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the South Steps of the Texas State Capitol. Attendees can look forward to entertainment, inspiring speakers, and festivities, followed by light refreshments on the Capitol lawn near the Tejano Monument. Admission is free and open to all.
For over three centuries, Tejanos—of Spanish, Mexican, African, and Indigenous descent—have played a vital role in shaping Texas's history and culture. From establishing its first permanent settlements, including San Antonio, Nacogdoches, Victoria, Goliad, and El Paso, to naming many of its waterways and landmarks, their contributions resonate throughout the state’s rich heritage.
