About this Event
Saturday 23rd and 30th November | 1 - 3:30pm | £12.50
Tutor: Wendy Sinnamon
Why do we still know the names of ancient Greek heroes and gods? Why are the many myths and legends still important to us in the twenty-first century? In this four week creative writing workshop we will read and discuss some of the best known ( and not so best known) ancient Greek mythologies, from the trials of the legendary Odysseus to the talented but doomed Arachne.
Through exciting and interesting exercises and prompts we will bring to life creative writing techniques such as the hero cycle, symbolism, metaphor and tragedy. We will discover how the stories of these great heroes and villains can inform our own creative writing and how understanding these myths can help us better understand ourselves.
This workshop is suitable for teens age 12+
