Alumni Directory
As we reconnect with Teen Council’s alumni, we would like to document our contacts in our Alumni Directory, used to invite you to future alumni programming–including this year’s 25th anniversary programs–and shared with all cohorts to help sustain our alumni network. If you are interested in participating, please find this form and share with others.
About CAMH’s Teen Council
Teen Council is a self-directed cohort of Houston-area teens employed by the museum to create programming for their peers. In addition to gaining real-world experience planning exhibitions and events in a museum setting, Teen Council members are introduced to Houston’s vibrant field of contemporary art; receive in-depth, behind-the-scenes insights on museum work; learn about pathways to creative careers; and develop leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking skills . Activities are decided by its members and can change from year to year. Teen Council’s programming has included exhibitions, zines and other publications, fashion shows, film screenings, listening parties, music festivals, interdisciplinary performance nights, and poetry readings.
The 25th Anniversary cohort of Teen Council includes Mylinh Bui, Chloe Cheuk, Andrew Hernandez, Hemani Koppolu, Bela Kumar, Isabella Landin, Anjali Martinez, Christopher McCord, Peace Okoh, Mia Ramos, Kerah Roque, Zarah Saffar, Ray Tian, and Sophia Zhao.
About Teen Council’s 25th Anniversary
Founded in 1999, Teen Council is celebrating its 25th anniversary year. Through 25 cohorts of stewardship, Teen Council has been teen-led and supported under the guidance of CAMH’s Learning and Engagement team, cultivating a reciprocal learning environment which brings Houston-area teens to enrich CAMH while providing the resource to inspire new relationships with Houston’s contemporary arts space.
To commemorate 25 years of teen-led programming, Teen Council members, alumni, exhibiting artists, performers, mentors, and collaborators are invited to celebrate Teen Council’s legacy, possibility, and present-day activity through a full year of activities including the biennial exhibition, alumni programming, and more.
