Contests are open to all kids entering 6th-12th grades. Submissions are due to the library desk by July 2nd or can be emailed until July 3rd.WRITING CONTEST Choose one of the following prompts to answer using any writing form (poem, short story, essay, etc.) that you’d like!
-Choose a plant. Imagine its adaptations are super powers. Write the story of your superhero plant.
-Invent a recipe. Spice up your favorite foods or concoct something completely new! Introduce us to your dish and give us the step-by-step instructions.
-Finish this prompt: “We only planted yellow flowers, but...”
PHOTO CONTEST Channel your inner foodie photographer and share a few pics of your favorite summer foods! Whether that’s dishes from a cookout with your family, produce at the farmer’s market, or a drippy ice cream cone, let your creativity shine through your depiction of your fave warm-weather bites.
THE DETAILS You may enter both contests. Please limit entries to three per contest. Submissions can be handed in at the library’s front desk or emailed to us at [email protected]. Be sure to include your name, age, and phone number. Winners will receive a prize and be featured on our Facebook page! Winning submissions will be displayed in the library until the end of summer.
