If you missed our Southern Soul Food kick-off event last Wednesday, we’re running it back this Wednesday for Black History Month: Chef Paul Groarke (master chef & former owner of Tee Off Bar & Grill) returns with more of his take on classic Southern Soul Food favorites. The soundtrack will be live soul/jazz vibes on ukulele by featured artist Don Orlando, then old‑school R&B karaoke with KJ Johnny T till close.
Comfort food, soulful sounds, and a legendary Tee Off night—all under one roof at Gormon Izakaya Bar & Karaoke Lounge.
This Week’s “Five‑Star Dive” Soul Food-inspired Menu:
1. Buttermilk Brined Fried Chicken & Waffles — $23
Big, crackly, well-seasoned bone-in thigh, brined in a spiced buttermilk, finished with hot honey and maple
2. Dungeness Crab Seafood Gumbo — $25
Classic Louisiana deep mahogany roux, smoky andouille, sauteed okra & a bright vegetable trinity with seasonal live Dungeness crab and shrimp served with rice.
3. Fried Catfish with Creole Garlic Steak Fries- $23
Crisp cornmeal crust with tender, lemon bright catfish inside served with Creole- seasoned double-cooked steak fries and house tartar, malt vinegar, and optional sweet chili aioli
4. Paul’s Soul Burger Plate- $24
A juicy, well-seasoned 7 oz smash/hand formed patty, American cheese, griddled sweet onions and tangy “soul sauce” plus sides of yellow mustard & egg yellow potato salad and collards simmered with smoked ham hocks and served with the potlikker for sopping
