A great idea is just the beginning—how you tell your product’s story is what sets you apart. A strong pitch can help you reach a wider audience, attract investors, and stand out in the market.
Technovation Girls Minnesota is here to help! As part of your Technovation Girls Challenge submission, you’ll create a pitch video to showcase your app or project. Plus, you’ll get the exciting chance to present it live at Appapalooza on May 17th!

This special workshop will be facilitated by Technovation Alum Payton Maas, who has firsthand experience navigating the program and mastering the pitch process.
About Our Facilitator:
Payton Maas discovered Technovation Girls Minnesota at age13 and competed in the program for five years (2015–2020). She credits the experience with building her confidence, fostering her curiosity, and equipping her with the skills to create businesses. Inspired by this program, she pursued a degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas, where she was part of the Schulze Innovation Scholarship Cohort. Today, she is the co-founder of Grow With Flora, a company reimagining period education for girls aged 8–14, making learning about puberty more approachable and empowering.
At This Session, You’ll:
✅ Learn expert tips on storytelling and public speaking to enhance your presentation skills.
✅ Get guidance on filming your pitch video to meet all submission requirements.
✅ Receive feedback to help refine your pitch and make it stand out.
And of course, we’ll have snacks to keep you energized! 🍎✨
What to Bring:
- A device with recording capability (mobile phone or iPad).
- One of the following (no need to bring all three):
- A 100-word description of your app/project.
- A script for your pitch video.
- A script for your live presentation to the judges.
