Suppose a lack of funds is holding you back. In that case, you may be interested to know that there are down payment assistance (DAP) programs such as Edina's ComeHome2Edina Program, Eden Prairie First Time Homebuyer Program, Woodbury's Home Buyer program, Dakota County First-Time Homebuyer and Minnesota Housing Finance Agency- which is available for first-time AND repeat buyers, statewide. Grants, loans, and tax credit programs might be available too-subject to funding and program parameters.
If you had a life event that resulted in poor credit, bankruptcy, foreclosure, divorce, unemployment or other credit challenges, there is no better time to start rebuilding your credit. Life happens; you can re-establish yourself and become a homeowner in just a few years. Plus, the minimum requirements for the above programs may not be as challenging to meet as you might think. With a larger down payment, we may be able to overcome your life event now.
FREE First-Time Homebuyer Seminar IN PERSON or ONLINE
FREE First-Time Homebuyer Seminar will be held ONLINE on April 10th, 2025, from 7-9 pm. You can register for the online class at HTTP://minneapolisstpaulhomes.net This will be via ZOOM.
We will have two IN-PERSON seminars on the following Saturday, April 12th, 2025, from 10-12 and 12-2 pm. Both in-person classes are on the same day and will be at Coffman Union at the U of M. It will be in room 303.
