Globe Art Point (GAP), in collaboration with the Story Sharing Universum is pleased to present the exhibition, 'Technophilia & The New Society', at Kulttuuritila Merirasti from November 14 to December 19, 2024. This pop up exhibition showcases selected members of the GAP Creatives Database and their reflections on the intersections of technology, language, power, and a future promise to be equitable.'Technophilia & The New Society' explores fundamental questions on the role of technology in shaping modern life: Is technology helping us create a more just and fulfilling world? Does technology deepen our connections to one another or leave us more isolated than ever? Artists from across diverse media – including paintings, multimedia, moving images, and photography – have responded to these themes, examining how technological progress impacts health, happiness, and social connectivity.
The exhibiting artists were selected through an open call exclusive to the members of GAP Creatives Database. A jury of four board members were involved in the selection process. The selected group of artists is formed by:
Lorena Articardi, David Flood, Veronika Gramotina, Kateryna Harahulia, Nilay Kılınç, Helena Kulishova, Alex Markwith, Damilare Olalude and Rute Morais Peixoto.
