Ready to take the first step into the world of technology? This Tech Fundamentals Workshop introduces students to the core concepts behind modern software and digital tools—giving them the confidence and mindset to move from technology users to technology creators.
Led by Brendon Thiede, Technical Director of Lansing Tech Studio and Principal Site Reliability Engineer at August Health, this fun, hands-on session breaks down how software works and how students can begin building their own programs and projects.
🌟 What students will do:
- Learn essential tech fundamentals used across all areas of software development
- Explore what scripts are and how they automate tasks and power simple programs
- Discover version control tools like Git and why they matter for teamwork and leadership
- Develop a creator mindset focused on innovation, problem-solving, and service
No prior experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
This workshop kicks off an exciting Spring Tech Studio Series running from January through April and leading up to 🎉 DemoCamp Jr 🎉, a student showcase where participants will demo their own projects for family and the community. Proudly sponsored by RMC (Recruitment Management Consultants).
