About this Event
The Tech Talk Series is intended to serve as a continuing education opportunity for anyone working in a manufacturing environment, from a shop assistant to a production manager. Managers should encourage their staff to attend these monthly training sessions to improve staff and operational efficiency.
This session will focus on practical work holding strategies that directly impact machining efficiency. We’ll cover how fixture selection, clamping methods, spindle utilization, setup time, and part consistency. Real-world examples will show how improved work holding can reduce idle spindle time, minimize material waste, shorten setups, and support standardization across jobs - helping shops increase throughput without adding labor. The training will also look at options for increasing performance of turning centers.
