Purple Mash: Teaching Coding to Primary Pupils
This Mash Meet CPD will explore:
- How to plan engaging coding activities for KS1 and KS2 and progression across Key Stages;
- Setting and sharing computing activities including micro:bits
- Demystifying Coding - what does sequence, selection, repetition, variables etc mean and how do I teach them?
- How to monitor, evidence and assess pupils' coding work;
- Engaging the wider community and sharing success

This session is great for:
Subject coordinators, teachers and teaching assistants who are delivering the Computing curriculum in years 1-6.
Come along and explore alongside other teachers in a relaxed, hands-on environment.
If you are the Computing Lead or you deliver the Computing curriculum to KS1 or KS2 then this is the session for you. We will be using online and unplugged activities alongside Purple Mash tools and resources to support teaching and learning in the Coding aspects of the Computing Curriculum. The day will be practical and hands-on as well giving you a tour of key Computing resources and theory. There will be time to ask questions and discuss lesson ideas.
Cost of the session is £100pp+VAT (including lunch and light refreshments)
Once you register, your school will be sent an invoice.
